November Review

There was a lot going on in the month of November for DUBC with races, fundraising and some exciting new kit. Throughout the month the members have done an amazing job raising money for Movember, in support of Men's mental and physical health, raising £2,477 collectively. This smashed previous fundraising targets and is a credit to everyone involved for the time and effort put in.

Our freshers got a taste of racing, along with the seniors getting a refresher, at Inverness Head. DUBC had a strong turnout of members competing in a variety of categories, and a fun weekend away was had by all. There were some very strong performances put in by crews, with some good placings overall. This has definitely sparked the competitive nature of the crews and will help push the training over the coming months.

A new design for DUBC kit has been created and was first implemented at Inverness. It is looking very smart and sees the club turn to use the official Dundee University logo. However the tartan leggings are remaining a staple of the club!

Members of DUBC and Dundee University Triathlon Club were given the opportunity to try out each other's sports and get an insight into the training of different clubs. There was a strong turnout for morning ergs by Tri members, with a similar number of DUBC turning up to their evening run and swim. It was a great opportunity to vary up sports and potentially try something new. At the end of the week we enjoyed a joint club night out at Ducks. Thank you to Dundee University Triathlon for having us!

The current state of the fleet isn't the best with many fixes and repairs required but the equipment team, coaching team and committee have been working hard to maintain the boats to allow all the members a fun and worthwhile experience out on the water. The state of boats will continue to be closely managed with necessary action taking place where and when required.

December comes with exams, but an exciting month ahead for training and socials for all members. We are looking forward to it already!
