May Review

The beginning of May saw the start of our committee handover from 2021/22 to 2022/23. Throughout the month, each position had its handover between the member leaving the role and the new member taking it on. With every passing week, the new committee has grown into their positions and are now truly in the swing of things here at DUBC. We want to thank the 2021/22 committee for all the hard work they have put in over the previous year. The club has come leaps and bounds recovering from the pandemic and is taking its first steps in an exciting direction. DUBC wouldn’t have been the same without you all this year, and you’ve truly made it a brilliant time for all our rowers.

On May 21st, Castle Semple Regatta was the first race run by the new coaching team, Rob Davis, our new Development Captain, and James Morrison, the Senior Captain. The day brought exceptionally close racing between our boats in the Women’s and Men’s Novice 4+ races. Despite very gusty winds and frequent showers, there were excellent results across all categories.

We would also like to congratulate everyone on finishing exam season and hope you are happy with the results. As our season here draws to a close, with our last race at Scot Champs in June, the start of our more stress-free training begins over the summer holiday, and we’ll be keeping everyone updated on what we get up to, on what will hopefully be a very sunny River Tay.
